BOOST, The Little Rock School District Homeless Education Program is designed to provide year round services and support to students identified as homeless based on the federal definition of homelessness. BOOST arranges transportation for the students as well as insure that they have free lunch eligibility. All services and programs are provided year round in both school and community settings.
The mission of the Little Rock School District Homeless Education Program is to promote the enrollment, attendance, and success of homeless children and youth in public schools.
The goals of the program are to deliver tutoring, remedial education services or other educational services to school-age homeless children and youth; and to deliver supplemental services which may include the following:
-Clothing and school supplies
-Assistance to defray the excess cost of transportation
-Coordination activities with existing programs
-Counseling and referrals for special needs, such as domestic violence
-Before and after school and summer enrichment programs for homeless children
